Vapor is heavier than air and can cause suffocation by reducing the available oxygen for breathing. Inhalation of high concentrations can cause light-headedness, giddiness, shortness of breath, and/or confusion, and may lead to narcosis, cardiac irregularities, unconsciousness, or even death. EYES: There is a possibility of permanant eye damage due to corneal burns from alcohol in product. SKIN: Prolonged or repeated skin contact can cause irritation, defatting of tissues, and dermatitis. Absorption through intact skin is possible if contact with liquid is prolonged. INGESTION: Ethanol is denatured with isopropanol and methyl-ethyl- ketone. Alcohols affect the central nervous system. Acute and chronic liver diseases and rhythm disorders of the heart can be aggravated by overexposure to this product. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emergency and First Aid Procedures INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration. Seek medical attention. EYES: Flush eyes for at least fifteen minutes with clear water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash exposed area with soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. INGESTION: INDUCE VOMITING with tepid salt water or syrup of IPECAC. Seek medical attention. NOTE: Adrenalin and similar cardiac stimulants should NOT be used to treat effects of overexposure to this product. See section I. * * * * * * * V--REACTIVITY DATA * * * * * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stability: STABLE Conditions to Avoid: Contact with open flame, heat. Incompatibility (materials to avoid): Strong bases, oxidizers, reducing agents, aluminum, and other metals. Hazardous Decomposition Products: Hydrogen chloride, phosgene, chlorine, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide. Hazardous Polymerization: WILL NOT OCCUR Conditions to Avoid: None Page 2 of 3 TECH SPRAY, INC. Dike area to contain spill. Clean up area by mopping or with s suitable absorbent material and place in closed containers for disposal. Avoid contamination of ground and surface waters. Do NOT flush to sewer. If spill is indoors, shut off air conditioning and heating systems to prevent contaminating of building. * * * * * * * VII--WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS * * * * * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Material may be disposed of by a licensed reclaimer or incineration facility. Consult local, state, and federal disposal authorities for approved procedures. Do not incinerate or destroy aerosol cans. * * * * * * * VIII--EMPLOYEE PROTECTION * * * * * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Respiratory Protection: Use NIOSH-approved organic vapor mask if vapor levels exceed TLV. Ventilation: Do not use in closed space. Ventilation required. Hands: Solvent-resistant gloves such as Viton, Polyvinyl alcohol. Eyes: Wear splash-proof safety goggles or glasses. Special Precautions: Keep aerosol cans in cool place out of direct sunlight. Keep this and all chemicals out of reach of children. This product for industrial use only. * * * * * * * IX--OTHER INFORMATION * * * * * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: Toxicity tests have not been completed on dichlorofluoroethane (141b).
