JP 500 (260-2950) Setup Mode Faxback Doc. # 15047 To enter the set-up mode on the printer, hold down the Economy/LQ key while switching on the printer and the current settings will print out. Make sure you have at least 4 pages worth of paper in the printer so that the current settings and and changes you make can be printed on the paper. DO NOT LOAD MORE THAN 15 SHEETS OF PAPER ON THE PAPER INPUT TRAY. DO NOT ALLOW MORE THAN 10 PRINTED SHEETS OF PAPER IN THE OUTPUT TRAY. While in set-up mode, a menu will print at the bottom of the current settings. The menu reads like this: Menu: QUIT Font Paper Char.set Options Printer The print head will stop under the word "Font". Using the panel keys to move the print head carriage along the group selection line, you can now select, change, and cornfirm the values you require of the printer. Form Feed - Moves the print head carriage to the left. Economy/LQ - Moves the print head carriage to the right On Line - Acesses the group/selects the value indicated by the position of the print head. The currently selected value for a group will have an asterisk (*) next to it. To end the set-up mode, select "QUIT" in the group selection line and the current settings will be printed to confirm any changes made. A new menu prints at the end of the new settings like this: BACK to menu QUIT & SAVE RESET ALL & SAVE EXIT (NO Save) Any option you pick besides BACK to menu will return you to the On-Line mode.
