Insertion:

1.  Press the INSTALL CARTRIDGE key on the operator panel.  The print head
    cartridge will move to the print head loading position, at the center
    of the carriage shaft.

2.  Open the top cover.

3.  Remove the print head from its container, holding it by its casing.

4.  Remove the protective film. (If it is the first time you are installing
    it.)

5.  Holding the print head by its finger-and-thumb grip and with the
    electrical contacts towards the front of the printer, insert the print 
    head in its chamber, pushing it down and then towards the front of the
    printer to hold it in place.

6.  Make sure the print head "clicks" into place.

7.  Press the INSTALL CARTRIDGE key on the operator panel and the print 
    head cartridge will move to its rest position.

Removal:

1.  Press the INSTALL CARTRIDGE key on the operator panel.  The print head
    cartridge will move to the print head loading position, at the center
    of the carriage shaft.

2.  Open the top cover.

3.  Push the entire print head towards the rear of the printer and pull it
    straight up and out, holding it by its finger-and-thumb grip.

You can order a replacement ink cartridge 2 or 3 times before you will need
to order the replacement printhead along with the ink cartridge.  Do not 
throw away the printhead if you are ordering a replacement ink cartridge 
only!  If you have already gone through 2 or 3 ink cartridge replacements,
order the printhead and ink cartridge replacement.  Only then will you 
dispose of the printhead.
