LP-950 (260-2838) ROM Upgrades Faxback Doc. # 16300 Occasionally customers will encounter problems with printing of True Type Fonts with the LP-950. It is possible that a ROM upgrade is needed for their LP-950. The following information will help determine if the upgrade is needed. A Self Test #1 printout in the "OTHER INFORMATION" section will have Program ROM information. The first 2,500 units produced will contain the CPR1C and CPR2C Program ROM's on the ICU PCB. These ROM's have a minor problem with fonts downloading while in the HP LaserJet II mode. The rest of the production units will contain CPR1D and CPR2D Program ROM's. If there is any problem with font download while in the HP LaserJet II mode, upgrade of the ROM's is needed. The 2 ROM's are located at IC socket position 4C and 4D. The IC sockets are 32-pin sockets. The ROM's are 28-pin IC's. Pin 1 of the ROM is to be installed into pin 3 of the IC socket. This upgrade can also be preformed by a Tandy Service Center.
