USING HEADPHONES You can connect a pair of stereo headphones with a 1/8-inch plug (not included) to the MMS-10 to listen in privacy. Your local Radio Shack store has a wide selection of stereo headphones to choose from. To connect the headphones, insert the 1/8-inch plug into the PHONE jack. NOTE: Connecting the headphones automatically disconnects the built-in and external speakers. CAUTIONS: To prevent damage to the headphones and to protect your ears from excessive volume levels, always set VOLUME to MIN before you plug in the headphones. Then slowly adjust VOL to a comfortable listening level. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels, especially when using headphones. Extended, high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. Do not increase the volume once you have established a comfortable listening level. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing.
