The easiest way to do this is through BASIC or QBASIC. If using BASIC, the following BASIC program will send the control codes, then return the user to MS-DOS: 10 LPRINT CHR$(27);CHR$(21) 20 SYSTEM If using QBASIC, use the following program: LPRINT CHR$(27);CHR$(21) Save the program using a name that can easily be remembered, such as DWP210.BAS. In BASIC, a file is saved by typing: SAVE "DWP210.BAS" Once back in MS-DOS, to run the program, type: BASIC DWP210.BAS or QBASIC /RUN DWP210.BAS To run the program. Insure that the printer is ON and ON-LINE when you send the control codes. Each time the printer is powered on, you must re- send the control codes. If using BASIC, you can put the line "BASIC DWP210.BAS" in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. This is not recommended when using QBASIC as it will halt operation. *For this to work on the DWP-2 (260-1158), the printer must have a serial number later than 13010163. If the customer does have a DWP-2 with an earlier serial number, he can get a BIOS ROM upgrade for the printer that will allow this to work. The BIOS ROM upgrade can be ordered from national parts as part # AMX-5805. It is recommended that a service center perform this upgrade (REF: TB I/O 32) (RS/tmc-10/11/95)
