Multimedia Board (250-1090) Loading the CD Faxback Doc. # 2440 A compact disc can store up to 630MB of data. The disc is accessed like a diskette or a hard disk; however, the disc is read only, so you cannot save data to it. Below are instruction for loading a CD disc into the drive tray: 1. Turn on the computer. 2. Open an internal CD-ROM drive by gently pressing the drive faceplate. For external CD-ROM drives, press the Open button. The drive unlatches from its locked position and springs out partially from the bay. 3. Pull the drive out until it is fully extended. 4. Raise the disc cover, and insert the Multimedia PC System Disc with the label side facing up. NOTE: Insert the disc into the CD-ROM drive before starting your Windows session. CAUTION: To remove a CD from its case, press down on the button tabs that hold the center of the CD and gently lift the CD out by its edges. To avoid scratching or smudging the CD, never touch the top or bottom flat surfaces of the CD. 5. Lower the disc cover. 6. Slide the drive back into the bay until it latches back into place.
