Precautions For Use:

Sudden shock or vibration applied to the CD-ROM drive during operation can
cause the drive to stop operating.  When you move the CD-ROM drive, be sure
that no disc is in the drive.  Otherwise you might damage the disc and the
drive.

Remove the disc, close the cover, and push the disc tray all the way in when
you are ready to move the CD-ROM drive.

Notes:

  Do not pull open the drive except to load and unload a disc.
  Do not place anything on top of the drive or attempt to push down the disc
  tray.
  If the CD-ROM Drive is jarred while a disc plays, the disc's rotation
  speed might suddenly change or some noise might occur.  This is not a
  malfunction.
  Do not install the CD-ROM drive in a place where the operating temperature
  exceeds the specified maximum operating temperature.
  Do not try to service this unit yourself, as opening or removing covers
  might expose you to dangerous voltage points or invisible infrared laser
  radiation.  Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  Condensation might form on the pick-up lens if the unit is suddenly
  removed from a cold environment to a warmer environment.  This can result
  in the len's inability to properly read the disc.  If this occurs, remove
  the disc and leave the power off.  After about 1 hour, re-insert and play
  the disc again.  If playing is not possible after several hours, contact
  your local Radio Shack store for assistance.
  Place only standard compact discs in the CD compartment.  Placing other
  objects in the compartment might damage the CD-ROM Drive.
  Avoid using the CD-ROM drive while the computer is on its side.  You might
  damage a compact disc if it falls out of the drive.
  Avoid using the CD-ROM drive where there is a high level of dust or debris
  in the air.
  Do not move the drive while the front of the drive is extended out from
  the computer.  To prevent damage to the drive during transit, tape the
  drive closed.

This unit uses a laser.  Only a qualified service person should remove the
cover or attempt to service this device, due to possible eye injury.

This CD-ROM Drive is made and tested to meet exacting safety standards.  It
meets UL and FCC requirements and complies with safety performance standards
of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Handle discs by the outer edge as much as possible.  Avoid touching the disc
surface with bare hands.

To avoid dust, scratches, bending etc., always store the discs in a disc
case when you are not using them.

For best results, wipe the disc with a soft dry cloth, rubbing outward from
the center.  Do not use benzene, record cleaner, static electricity
prevention fluid, or other liquids that might damage the disc.

Notes:

  Do not write on discs.
  Do not directly attach any label to discs.
  Do not bend discs.
  Do not expose discs to direct sunlight.
  Do not store discs in a room with high temperature 
  (140 Degrees F) or high humidity (95%).
