OFF is IBM character Set 1. ON is IBM character Set 2. Switch 3: Off will not place a slash through the number zero. ON will slash the number zero Switch 4: Determines whether the printer does or does not add a LF to each carriage return. OFF the printer will feed one line when a LF code is sent. ON the printer will add a LF to each carriage return. Switch 5: Determines whether the printer does or does not add a CR to each line feed. OFF the printer will feed one line when a CR code is sent. ON the printer will add a CR to each line feed. Note: If your software does not control the CR and LF functions, and if the printer prints on top of previous lines or double spaces. Change the settings of dip switches 4 and 5 to correct the printing problem. Switch 6 7, and 8: Determine the default code page. ┌──────────────────────┐ │EPSON Emulation Mode: │ └──────────────────────┘ Switch 1: is OFF. Switch 2: Selects the character set. OFF is the ITALIC character set. ON is GRAPHIC character set. Switch 3: Off will not place a slash through the number zero. ON will slash the number zero Switch 4: Determines whether the printer does or does not add a LF to each carriage return. OFF the printer will feed one line when a LF code is sent. ON the printer will add a LF to each carriage return. Note: If your software does not control the LF function, and if the printer prints on top of previous lines or double spaces. Change the settings of dip switch 4 to correct the printing problem. Switch 5: Sets the skip-over-perforation feature. OFF the printer ignores perforations between pages. ON the printer will skip one inch at the bottom of each page before the perforation. Switch 6 7, and 8: Determine the default code page. Setting the Serial Interface DIP Switches: Before installing the serial interface, you should set its DIP switch so that the printer operates correctly with your computer. See your computer and software user's guides for information about the proper serial interface settings. ┌─────────────────┬─────────┬────────┐ ┌─────────────┬──────┬──────┬──────┐ │Switch │ OFF │ ON │ │Baud Rate │ 1 │ 2 │ 3 │ ├─────────────────┼─────────┴────────┤ ├─────────────┼──────┼──────┼──────┤ │ 1 Baud Rate │ │ │9600 │ OFF* │ OFF* │ OFF* │ │ │ See Baud Rate │ │4800 │ ON │ OFF │ OFF │ │ 2 Baud Rate │ Table │ │2400 │ OFF │ ON │ OFF │ │ │ │ │1200 │ ON │ ON │ OFF │ │ 3 Baud Rate │ │ │ 600 │ OFF │ OFF │ ON │ │ ├──────────┬───────┤ │ 300 │ ON │ OFF │ ON │ │ 4 Protocol │ XON/XOFF*│ DTR │ │ 110 │ OFF │ ON │ ON │ │ │ │ │ └─────────────┴──────┴──────┴──────┘ │ 5 Data Bits │ 8 * │ 7 │ │ │ │ │ │ 6 Parity Check │ Off * │ On │ │ │ │ │ │ 7 Parity │ Even * │ Odd │ │ │ │ │ │ 8 Not Used │ │ │ └─────────────────┴──────────┴───────┘ Note: An asterisk (*) indicates a default factory setting Switch 1 2 and 3 : Are used to select the baud rate between the printer and the computer.
