LP 400 (260-2888) Menu Operation Faxback Doc. # 4047 Note: Faxback Doc.# 4048 contains a listing of all menu options. The LP-400 has an LCD display, 4 LED indicators, and 8 keypad controls which are used to configure the printer. Below is a description of each function possible with the menu operation panel: LCD Display: Displays status of printer, menu options, and error messages. Power/Drum Life LED: Used to indicate that the printer is powered ON and to show approximate drum life. The indicator will change its color from green to orange at 7,500 copies, and then to red at 9,900 copies indicating that the drum life is close to its end. At 10,000 copies CHANGE DRUM displays on the LCD panel. Error LED: Used in conjunction with the LCD display to indicate a problem with the printer. Ready LED: Used to indicate that the printer is ready to print. If blinking, there is data in the printer buffer. Manual LED: Used to indicate that the printer is set for MANUAL paper feed. Function: Used to enter the setup menus for the printer. Pressing Function and Set at power on, will place the printer in the HEXDUMP mode. UP & Down: These buttons are used to select between the menu and item selections in the setup menus. When both buttons are pressed in the off line state, the printer will perform a selftest. Set: Used to "set" or select the menu/item in the setup menus. Continue/Reset: Used to save menu setup changes to memory. Or if used in the menu setup mode, will reset the configuration to the factory default values. FF: This button will empty the contents of the printer buffer and form feed (eject) the page. Printfont/Test: Used when performing a Font Test or Status Print Test. Online: Used to place the printer in the on line or off line state. The Ready LED will indicate if the printer is on line or off line. When the button is pressed during power on, the print density function is enabled. ┌────────────────┐ │Using the Menu: │ └────────────────┘ Menu settings are stored in the printer's memory even after you turn off power and they remain unchanged until you reprogram them. Use the keys on the operation panel to program the functions. The setting you can change flashes on the display. 1. With the printer off line, press FUNCTION to enter the menu programming mode. 2. Press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW so the directory name you wish to change flashes on the display. 3. Press SET to enter the menu select mode. The first menu item flashes. 4. Press UP or DOWN ARROW so the menu item you want to change flashes on the display. 5. Press SET to enter the change setting mode. The current setting flashes. 6. Press UP or DOWN ARROW until the setting you want flashes on the display. 7. Press SET to return to the menu select mode. The menu item flashes. If necessary, repeat Steps 4 to 7 to program other settings. 8. Press FUNCTION to exit the menu programming mode. 9. Press CONTINUE/RESET to store the new settings into memory. Note: The PAPER SET, MANUAL FEED, and THICK PAPER functions become valid without pressing CONTINUE/RESET. If you changed only these functions, you do not need to press CONTINUE/RESET. Restoring Default Settings: Follow these steps to restore the printer's functions to their factory default values. 1. Press FUNCTION to enter the select directory mode. 2.
