LMP 2150 (260-1272) Switch Settings Faxback Doc. # 5651 SETTING PRINT FUNCTION SWITCHES (DIP SWITCHES) A group of DIP switches are mounted on the rear of the Printer. These switches are interrogated only during the Power-ON initialization cycle. When OFF, this switch indicates the default setting of DP Mode. Switch 2, NL/LF Mode When ON, this switch indicates the Power ON default setting of a New Line (NL) response to Line Feed (LF) characters. NL is equivalent to a Carriage Return (CR) followed by a LF. When OFF, this switch indicates the default setting of only the LF response to LF characters. Switch 3, CR/NL When ON, this switch indicates the Power ON default setting of a Carriage Return (CR) only response to CR characters. When OFF, this switch indicates the default setting of a New Line (NL) response to CR characters. NL is equivalent to a CR followed by a LF. Switch 4, European/ASCII When ON, this switch indicates a Power ON default setting of an European character set for characters AOH through BFH. When OFF, this switch indi- cates a default setting of American Special character set (Correspondence font style only) for characters AOH through BFH. Switch 5, Standard 10 CPI Font Style When ON, this switch permits Power ON selection of font styles other than the Standard 10 CPI Font Style. When OFF, this switch selects the Stand- ard 10 CPI Font Style as the default. NOTE: If more than one font style, or no font style, is selected via Switch 5 through 8, the Printer will default to the Standard 10 CPI Font Style. Switch 6, Correspondence 10 CPI Font Style When ON, this switch selects the Correspondence 10 CPI Font Style as Power ON default, When OFF, other font styles may be selected. Please see note above. Switch 7, Compressed 12.5 CPI Font Style When ON, this switch selects the Compressed 12.5 CPI Font Style as Power ON default, When OFF, other font styles may be selected. Please see note above. Switch 8, Condensed 16.7 CPI Font Style When ON, this switch selects the Condensed 16.7 CPI Font Style as Power ON default. When OFF, other font styles may be selected. Please see note above. POWER-UP The following events occur each time POWER is turned ON: 1. An internal confidence test is run. If this test fails, both the READY and ALERT indicator will flash, and the initialization sequence will not proceed further. 2. The Self-Test cycle will be initiated as described above if the RESTART switch is depressed. 3. The Function and Font Style switches are interrogated and stored in the Printer's memory. NOTE: This is the only time these switches are read. Switch changes subsequent to Power ON are ignored. 4. Elongation function is reset. 5. Underline function is reset. 6. Line pitch is set to 6 LPI. 7. Top of Form is established at the current print position. 8. Form Length is set to 11 inches. (dtc-08/04/93)
