Turn the L-pad control to "O".  Set the Amplifier's volume control
slightly above the normal listening level.  Turn the Amplifier on.  At the
"O" setting, there should be no sound from the speakers.  Gradually turn
the control up to the proper listening level.  If the volume is inadequate
even at the highest setting, increase the Amplifier volume slightly.
