Mini Amplified Speaker (320-2040) Operation Faxback Doc. # 15492 CONNECTING THE AUDIO SOURCE The speaker has two input jacks - an auxiliary jack (AUX) and a mono microphone jack (MIC). You can use either input jack, or both at the same time. If you use both, the two audio signals are mixed in the speaker's output. CAUTION: To protect your hearing and prevent damage to the speaker, always connect the speaker before turning on the audio source. USING THE AUX JACK To connect an audio source that has only a headphone output jack (such as a portable radio or tape player), use shielded cords with 1/8-inch plugs on each end (Cat. No. 42-2420). To connect the audio source, plug one end into the audio source's headphone jack. Then plug the other end into the speaker's AUX jack. USING THE MIC JACK To connect a mono microphone to the speaker, plug the microphone's 1/8- inch plug into the speaker's MIC jack. Follow these steps to use the speaker. 1. Connect the speaker to power and the audio source. (See "Connecting to Power" and "Connecting the Audio Source.") 2. Turn on the audio source. 3. To turn on the speaker, turn VOLUME/OFF clockwise until it clicks. 4. Turn VOLUME/OFF to set the volume to a comfortable listening level. 5. Turn TONE to adjust the high frequency sound. 6. To turn off the speaker, turn VOLUME/OFF counterclockwise until it clicks. (br/all-06/02/95)
