PRO X77 Speaker (400-2072/77) Connections Faxback Doc. # 16118 With the speakers placed in their approximate locations, measure the distance from each speaker to your receiver/amplifier. Use 18-gauge speaker wire for distances of 50 feet or less. For distances greater than 50 feet, use heavier 16-gauge wire. NOTE: For maximum bass response and the best overall performance, connect your speakers so they are in phase with each other (+ with +, - with -). You can easily make the proper connections with coded speaker wire available at your local Radio Shack store. 1. Separate the wire's two conductors at both ends for a length of about 4 inches. 2. Strip the insulation from the ends of each conductor to expose 1/4-inch of metal wire. 3. Press the tab on the left speaker's negative (-) terminal and insert one of the wire ends. Then release the tab. 4. Press the tab on the left speaker's positive (+) terminal and insert the other wire end. Then release the tab. 5. Using the speaker's wire code as a guide, connect the left speaker's negative (-) terminal to the receiver/amplifier's left negative (-) terminal. Then connect the left speaker's positive (+) terminal to the receiver/ amplifier's left positive (+) terminal. 6. Repeat steps 3-5 to connect the right speaker. (ALL-07/25/95)
