Low organ notes and bass drums fall within this range. You can also use this control to compensate for poor bass response in recordings or to reduce rumble or other low-frequency noise. 250 Hz - Use this control to adjust frequencies in the middle-bass range. Timpani and some low-brass instruments fall within this range. 1 KHz - Use this control to adjust the range of frequencies where the ear is most sensitive. Vocals are within this range. 4.5 KHz - Use this control to adjust the range of frequencies that includes vocals and upper-midrange instruments. The clarinet and saxophone fall within this range. 15 KHz - Use this control to adjust high-frequency sounds. Cymbals, flutes and violins fall within this range. Power Level Master The power level meter shows you stereo output power level. As the volume increases, more power level indicator light. Headphone Listening For private listening or to monitor while you record, you can connect low- impedance headphone (not supplied) with a 1/4 inch plug. To connect the headphones, insert the headphone cord's plug into the PHONES jack. Connecting headphones mutes the external speakers. Hearing Comfort and Your Health Do not listen at extremely high volume levels, especially when using headphones. Extended, high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use headphones. Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing. (ALL-08/08/95)
