NOTE: If FM stereo reception is noisy, press FM MONO. MONO appears on the display. The sound is no longer in stereo, but the reception improves. To return to stereo, press FM MONO again. MONO disappears from the display, and STEREO reappears. Manual Tuning Follow these steps to manually tune to a station. 1. Press TUNER to select the tuner. The TUNER indicator lights. 2. Press BAND SELECT to select the desired band. AM, FM1 and FM2 appear in sequence on the display as you press this button. 3. Press TUNING \/ or /\ to tune to the desired station. The TUNED indicator lights when you tune to a station. Hold down \/ or /\ for fast tuning. Automatic Search Tuning Follow these steps to automatically search for stations. 1. Press TUNER. The TUNER indicator lights. 2. Press BAND SELECT until the desired band (AM, FM1, or FM2) appears on the display. 3. Press AUTO SEARCH. AUTO appears on the display. 4. Press TUNING \/ or /\. The tuner automatically locks on the next strong station. To turn off the automatic search operation. press AUTO SEARCH to AUTO disappears from the display. NOTE: When you tune to an FM stereo broadcast, STEREO appears in the display, unless you press FM MONO. Programmed Tuning You can store 6 AM and 12 FM stations. Then, you can instantly tune to a station by selecting the band (AM, FM1, or FM2) and pressing the desired memory station button (1 to 6) on the system or the remote control. Follow these steps to store radio stations in memory. 1. Press BAND SELECT to select the desired band. 2. Tune to a station you want to store. 3. Press MEMORY. MEMORY appears on the display for about 5 seconds. 4. While MEMORY is displayed, press one of the six memory station buttons. This stores the station in memory under the selected station button number. 5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 to store other frequencies in the same radio band. Repeat the entire procedure to store station in the other bands. NOTE: This system holds the stored stations in memory for about 24 hours if you unplug the AC power cord or if a power failure occurs.
