TAPE 1 MODE Switch: The MODE switch can be set before or during tape playback. In the sequential position, playback will automatically stop when tape play is completed. In the continuous play position, playback repeats continuously from side A to side B and back to side A again. 3. TAPE 1 DIRECTION Switch: Press during playback to change playing from side A to B or vice versa. 4. TAPE 2 Deck (Record & Playback) Cassette Compartment: Load a cassette here to record or playback. 5. TAPE 2 MODE Switch: The MODE switch can be set before or during tape playback or recording. In the sequential position, playback or recording will automatically stop when the tape comes to the end. In the reverse position, playback or recording will continue on side B after side A is completed. 6. TAPE 2 DIRECTION Switch: Press during playback to change from side A to B or vice versa. NOTE: Recording cannot be set to continue from side B to side A. 7. Tape Counter Reset Button: Press to reset the digital tape counter to "000". 8. Digital TAPE COUNTER: Use this as a handy reference to locate material for recording or playback. This counter functions for TAPE 2 deck only. 9. PEAK LEVEL METERS: When recording or dubbing, these meters indicate the peak recording level. During playback, they indicate the peak levels of the audio signal. 10. POWER Switch: Press to turn the unit on. Press again to turn it off. 11. TAPE 1 TAPE SELECTOR Switch: Set to either NORMAL or METAL/CrO2 - according to the type of tape being used. 12. TAPE 2 TAPE SELECTOR Switches: Press the appropriate switch(es) - NORMAL, CrO2 or METAL - according to the type of tape being used. 13. DOLBY NR Switches: Set to IN and select either B or C position, whichever is proper, for the recording selected, to activate the built-in Dolby Noise Reduction System. 14. CONTINUOUS PLAY Switch: Press to obtain continuous playback from TAPE 1 deck to TAPE 2 deck or vice versa. Continuous playback will automatically stop when the second tape has reached the end of its travel. 15. DUBBING Switch: Set to IN when dubbing from TAPE 1 deck to TAPE 2 deck. 16. HIGH SPEED Switch: Press for faster speed, about twice the normal speed for dubbing in half the usual time. 17. LEFT and RIGHT RECORD LEVEL Controls: Turn these knobs to adjust the recording levels of the left and right channels, respectively. The recording levels are indicated on the level meters. 18. LEFT and RIGHT MICROPHONES Jacks: For live recordings, connect high quality microphones to these jacks. The INPUT selector switch on the rear panel should be set to the MIC position. 19. Stereo PHONES Jack: Connect stereo headphones (8 or 32 ohms impedance) to this jack for headphone listening or monitoring. 20. TAPE 2 Deck: PAUSE Button Press to temporarily stop tape movement during recording or playback. Press again to resume tape movement. 21. TAPE 2 Deck: STOP/EJECT Button Press to stop tape movement. Press again to open the cassette compartment for loading and removing cassettes. 22. TAPE 2 Deck < and > (Fast wind) Buttons Press < or > button corresponding to the tape direction you wish to advance. To release, press STOP/EJECT. The automatic stop system will be activated when the end of the tape is reached. 23. TAPE 2 Deck: PLAY Button Press to begin tape playback. 24. TAPE 2 Deck: RECORD Button Press to record. This button cannot be pressed if the cassette is protected against erasure, if the cassette compartment is not loaded with a cassette, or if the PLAY button is already engaged. 25. TAPE 1 Deck: PAUSE Button Press to temporarily stop tape movement during playback. Press again to resume tape movement. 26. TAPE 1 Deck: STOP/EJECT Button Press to stop tape movement. Press again to open the cassette compartment for loading and removing cassettes. 27. TAPE 1 Deck: < and > (Fast wind ) Buttons Press < and > buttons to rapidly move the tape in the indicated direction. To release, press STOP/EJECT. The automatic stop system will be activated when the end of the tape is reached. 28. TAPE 1 Deck: PLAY Button Press to begin tape playback. 29.
