When the tape reaches the end during playback, recording, fast-forward or rewind, the tape mechanism automatically stops. CAUTION: When the tape in deck 1 reaches the end during fast-forward or rewind, press STOP/EJECT to release the mechanism. USING DOLBY NOISE REDUCTION This system's deck uses the Dolby-B noise reduction system to lower the level of background noise or "tape Hiss" to one third of the original level. During recording, the Dolby NR circuit finds sections where tape noise is high and automatically increases the recording level of these sections. When you play the tape, the Dolby NR circuit reduces the volume of these sections and, thus, the level of tape hiss. When listening to a recording, set the DOLBY NR switch to the setting used when it was recorded.
