While pressing and holding down TIME, repeatedly press HOUR to set the current hour. IF you press and hold down HOUR, the hour advances slowly. NOTE: The PM indicator (a small red dot on the upper left of the display) lights for a PM hour. 2. While pressing and holding down TIME, repeatedly press MINUTE to set the current minute. If you press and hold down MINUTE, the minute advances slowly. The clock/radio displays the current time. ALARM OPERATION You can set the alarm so the alarm beeps or the radio turns on at the desired alarm time. Follow these steps to set and view the alarm time. 1. While pressing and holding down ALARM, repeatedly press HOUR to set the alarm hour. If you press and hold down HOUR, the hour advances slowly. 2. While pressing and holding down ALARM, repeatedly press MINUTE to set the alarm minute. If you press and hold down MINUTE, the minute advances slowly. To view the current alarm time, press and hold down ALARM. Once you set the alarm time, follow these steps to use the alarm. 1. Set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to AUTO for the radio to turn on at the preset time, or to ALARM for the alarm beep to sound. NOTES: Tune the radio to a station before you set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to AUTO. See "Radio Operation." The ALARM indicator (a small red dot on the middle left of the display) lights when you set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to AUTO or ALARM. 2. Slide VOLUME MIN/MAX to the desired alarm volume. 3. To turn off the alarm, set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to OFF or press ALARM. NOTE: You can temporarily turn off the alarm beep or radio for about 9 minutes by pressing SNOOZE. 4. To reset the alarm to sound at the preset time 24 hours later, set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to AUTO or ALARM. RADIO OPERATION PLAYING THE RADIO 1. Set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to ON to turn on the radio. 2. Set FM STEREO/FM MONO/AM to FM STEREO, FM MONO (FM monophonic), or AM. NOTE: The AM antenna is built-in. Rotate the clock radio for the best AM reception. Fully extend the AC power cord (with a built-in FM antenna) for the best FM reception. 3. Turn TUNING to the desired frequency. NOTES: The FM STEREO indicator (a small red dot to the left of the Tuning indicator) lights if you set FM STEREO/FM MONO/AM to FM STEREO and the clock radio receives an FM station in stereo. To improve the reception of weak FM stations, set FM STEREO/FM MONO/AM to FM MONO. The sound is not in stereo, but the reception might improve. 4. Adjust VOLUME MIN/MAX to a comfortable listening level. 5. Set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to OFF to turn off the radio. USING THE SLEEP TIMER You can set the radio to play up to 1 hour and 59 minutes, then automatically turn off. Follow these steps to use the sleep timer. 1. Set ON/OFF/AUTO/ALARM to OFF. 2. Press and hold down SLEEP. 0:59 appears on the display and the radio plays. To set the playing time for more than 59 minutes, press HOUR while pressing down and holding SLEEP. 1:59 appears on the display. To set the playing time for less than 1 hour and 59 minutes, repeatedly press MINUTE while pressing down and holding SLEEP. 3. Release SLEEP. The current time displays. 4. To turn off the radio before it turns itself off, press SNOOZE. USING HEADPHONES You can connect a pair of optional stereo headphones (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 33-1022) with a 1/8-inch plug into the PHONES jack on top of the clock radio. NOTE: When you connect stereo headphones, the clock radio's internal speakers automatically disconnect. (EB 11/21/95)
