Chronomatic-109 (120-1498) Operation Faxback Doc. # 18936 Operating Instructions BEFORE TURNING ON Set the ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ switch to OFF and turn the VOLUME control all the way down. PLug the clock into a standard household outlet. SETTING THE CLOCK Set to the proper time by turning the TIME SET (small knob) on the left end panel. NOTE: Once a minute drum. Forcing the knob while the cycle is in progress may damage the movement. SETTING THE ALARM Turn the ALARM SET (large knob) on the left end panel to the correct setting. The Alarm indicator on the left end of the front panel is marked at ten-minute intervals. LISTENING TO RADIO Set the switch on the right end panel to either AM or FM. Set the ON/ OFF/AUTO/BUZZ switch to ON. Adjust the TUNING control to the desired station and set the VOLUME at a reasonable listening level. SLEEP-TO-MUSIC Set ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ to OFF. Set the SLEEP switch to the desired amount of time (up to 60 minutes) then adjust the radio as in Listening to Radio. The radio will automatically shut off at the end of the period you set. WAKE TO MUSIC Turn the ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ switch to AUTO The radio will come on at the time you've set on the Alarm. The radio will stay on for about 80 minutes and then automatically turn off. To turn the radio off, set ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ control to OFF. Set to ON if you want to continue listening to the radio. WAKE TO MUSIC AND BUZZER Turn the ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ switch to BUZZ. The radio will come on at the time you've set on the Alarm and five minutes later the buzzer sound. Press the SNOOZE bar for a five-minute nap. After that, you can press snooze again for an additional 10-minute nap (three more times) After that, buzzer will not come on again. To turn the buzzer OFF, set the ON/OFF/AUTO/BUZZ to OFF. Set to ON if you want to continue listening to the radio. PRIVATE LISTENING Insert the plug from an earphone or extension speaker into the EAR jack on the right end panel. This automatically disconnects the built-in speaker. NOTES: Protect your radio from dust and moisture and do not expose it to extreme heat. Radiators stoves and heaters may damage the cabinet and components. Use a soft cloth moistened with water or soapsuds to clean the cabinet. NEVER USE HARSH SOLVENTS.
