AM Portable Radio (120-0106) Operation Faxback Doc. # 19703 CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS 1. ON/OFF and Volume Control 2. Headphone Jack 3. TUNING Control 4. Belt Clip 5. Battery Compartment BATTERY: open the battery compartment on the back by pressing it down and off. Snap a 9-volt battery (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23 -583) onto the battery terminals, making sure polarity is correct. Then slip the battery into the compartment. HEADPHONES: Fully uncoil the headphone cord and insert the headphone plug into the headphone jack. Place the headphones on your head. Adjust the head band so that the ear pieces fall comfortably over the center of each ear. CONTROLS: To operate your Radio, rotate Volume clockwise to "click on". Adjust TUNING for the desired station and then adjust Volume for the desired level of sound. You will probably notice that moving or rotating the radio will affect reception. Position it for best reception. When not in use, be sure to "click off" by rotating the Volume control counter-clockwise. MAINTENANCE: Clean the case only with a damp cloth (no solvents or abrasives). CAUTION: When the battery becomes weak or dead, replace it with a fresh one. When you store your radio for some time, always remove the battery. Even a so-called "leakproof" battery can permit chemicals that can damage the radio. (/all-02/29/96)
