Digichron II (120-1490/1490A) Operation Faxback Doc. # 19723 CLOCK SETTING Plug the AC line cord into 120 VAC 60 Hz wall socket. The Clock Motor Drum (5) will start to spin. Adjust the correct time by rotating the Time Adjust Knob (1) clockwise. Adjust for AM or PM, visible in the corner of the hour digit. RADIO (MANUAL) 1. Press the ON/OFF Button (6) down. Press the Manual Auto Button (7) releasing it to the up position. 2. Select AM or FM with switch (8). 3. Turn to the desired station with the Tuning Control (9), and adjust Volume Control (10) for desired listening level. 4. To turn radio OFF, press the ON-OFF Button lightly and it will return to the up position. SLEEP WITH MUSIC 1. Follow the directions outlined for radio operation. Before retiring press the Manual-Auto Button down to AUTO. 2. Turn the Sleep Knob (3) a half turn to the left for 60 minutes of radio play, a quarter turn for 30 minutes, etc. The radio will automatically turn OFF at the end of the play period. WAKE TO BUZZER Press the ON-OFF and Manual-Auto Buttons down. Rotating the Alarm Set Knob (2) counter-clockwise, adjust the Alarm Indicator to your desired waking time, AM or PM. Move the Buzzer-Radio/Alarm Switch (12) to the Buzzer (rear) position. Turn the Volume Control completely counterclockwise. When the digital clock reaches your wake-up time, the buzzer will sound. To turn the buzzer OFF, release the ON/OFF Button. WAKE TO MUSIC Press the On-Off and Manual-Auto Buttons down. Move the Buzzer-Radio Alarm Switch to Radio Alarm and set the Alarm Indicator for the desired waking time. BE SURE to tune the station you wish to hear in the morning BEFORE you go to sleep. WAKE TO BUZZER AND MUSIC Press the On-Off and Manual-Auto Buttons down. Move the Buzzer Radio Alarm Switch to Buzzer and adjust for the desired wake-up time. When the digital clock reaches your wake-up time, both the Buzzer and the radio will turn on. Release the Manual-Auto Button and only the radio will continue to play. FOR PRIVATE LISTENING Insert the earphone plug into the Speaker Jack (14). The built-in speaker will be automatically disconnected. Radio Shack earphone Cat. No. 33-1036 fits this unit. NOTES: Always protect the unit against dust and moisture, and avoid exposure to extreme heat. Radiators, heaters and stoves may damage the cabinet and its components. Always turn the unit off after using. Clock should be lubricated every 2 years. Should repairs be necessary, DO NOT make them yourself.
