Power Backup During Power Failure We recommend you to install the 6F22 battery (not supplied) for the power backup function. If the AC power supply is interrupted, the battery will supply power to keep the clock operating and holding the alarm time setting. During a power failure, the clock function will be maintained although the illumination on the time display will go off, however the alarm sound will not come on. After a power failure, the displayed time may not always be correct (it may gain or lose less than ten minutes per hour). This battery is only for sustaining the clock operation and maintaining the alarm memory during a power failure. You cannot listen to the radio with the battery. When to replace the battery To check the battery status, unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet and plug it in again after a few minutes. If the displayed time is incorrect, replace the battery with a new one. CAUTION: Be sure to install the battery before disconnecting the AC power cord. If the Clock Radio is to be left unplugged for a long period of time, remove the battery to avoid undue battery discharge and damage caused by battery leakage and subsequent corrosion.
