PLAYING THE RECEIVER

Follow these steps to play the Receiver.

Warning:  To protect your hearing, set the volume control to its lowest
          setting before you turn on the receiver.

1.  Press POWER to turn on the receiver.

2.  Set AM/FM/FM-ST for the desired band.  (Set it to FM-ST for stereo
    sound on FM stations.)

3.  Adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.

4.  Adjust TUNING to tune to the desired station.  STEREO lights when
    you select FM-ST and the receiver receives a strong FM signal
    provided that you use a pair of headphones (not supplied).

    To turn off the receiver, press POWER.

    Notes:  For best FM reception, fully extend the wire antenna or
            headphone cord.

            The AM antenna is built-in.  Rotate the receiver to improve AM
            reception.

            To improve reception for weak FM stereo signals, set
            AM/FM/FM-ST to FM.  The sound becomes monaural (mono).  To
            return to stereo sound, set it to FM-ST.

            The STEREO indicator does not light in the speaker mode.
