This radio is powered by four AA batteries.  For longest battery life, we
recommend Radio Shack's alkaline batteries (Cat. No. 23-552).

Install the batteries as follows:

1.  Rotate the battery compartment cover knob until the cover is loose.
    Then, remove the cover.

2.  Install the four AA batteries observing the polarity (+ and -) marked
    in the battery compartment.

3.  Replace the battery compartment cover.

    Note:  You must line up the arrow on the cover with the arrow on the
           radio.

4.  Turn the cover knob clockwise until the cover seals properly.
