BATTERY BACK-UP WITH BATTERY SENTINEL

The clock radio has a backup power system that operates the clock and
alarm during a power failure. The clock display goes off, but the
clock operates for at least 8 hours, and the alarm sounds for at least
10 minutes.

The BATTERY SENTINEL indicator is a small red dot at the bottom right of
the display. The indicator turns on when the battery is low or not
installed and the clock radio is connected to standard AC power.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY

Note: To prevent unnecessary drain on the battery, install it only after
connecting the clock radio to an AC power outlet.

Slide off the battery cover on the bottom of the radio. Insert a
9-volt battery. For best performance, we recommend an alkaline
battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553.

AUTO BATTERY TEST

The BATTERY SENTINEL circuit automatically tests the battery for low
charge. If the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator lights, replace the battery.

A prolonged power failure can drain the battery. If this happens, the
display flashes on and off when the power is restored. Replace the
battery and reset the clock.

POWERING THE CLOCK RADIO

Plug the AC power cord into a standard AC outlet. The display blinks when
the radio is first plugged in or if the power is interrupted.

To set the LED's brightness, set DIMMER LOW/HIGH to the desired setting.
