4-Band Portable Radio (120-1377) Operation Faxback Doc. # 3809 POWER SUPPLY: AC OPERATION: Take AC Power Cord out of storage compartment on the back side of set and insert the plug-in-jack to the terminal of set. Connect the power cord to a convenient wall outlet AC 117V, 50 to 60 cps. DC OPERATION: Insert 4 C cell 1.5v batteries into the battery housing in the inside bottom of case. When inserting the batteries to the battery housing, make sure the battery polarity is correct, as per the marking on the retainer. Otherwise, the circuit components may be damaged. AM OPERATION: BC or MB band operation may be carried out in the usual manner. FM OPERATION: Pull out the telescopic antenna located on the top of the case to its full length. Turn the "BAND Switch" located on the front panel to the "FM" position and tune in any desired signal using the tuning knob located on the front panel, placing the "AFC Switch" located on the right side to "OFF" position. After tuning in, turn the AFC switch to "ON" position. Then stable operation of FM will be maintained. AIRCRAFT BAND OPERATION: Turn the "Band Switch" to the "AIR" position and tune in any desired signal using the tuning knob. You can then enjoy listening to airport control tower broadcasts in your area. Be sure to extend the telescopic antenna to its full length, when using the aircraft band. TONE CONTROL: The tone control switch is located on the right side of the case. EARPHONE JACK: An earphone jack is located on the right side of the case for private listening. CAUTION: Before storing the radio for a long time, be sure to take out the batteries from the case; otherwise chemicals from the batteries may damage the components. (br/all-12/28/94)
