AM/FM Stereo Mate (120-0182) Operation Faxback Doc. # 3850 PLAYING THE RECEIVER Follow these steps to play the receiver: 1. Set VOLUME to its lowest setting. 2. Plug the in-ear stereo phones into the earphone jack. 3. Set ON/OFF to ON to turn on the receiver. 4. Set FM STEREO/FM/AM as indicated: FM STEREO-To listen to FM mono or stereo stations. FM- To improve reception of a weak FM stereo station. The sound changes from stereo to monaural (mono). AM- To listen to an AM radio station. 5. Put on the in-ear stereo phones and adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level. 6. Rotate TUNING to tune to the desired station. The stereo indicator lights when the receiver plays an FM stereo signal. To turn off the receiver, set ON/OFF to OFF. HEARING COMFORT AND YOUR HEALTH Do not listen to your receiver at extremely high volume levels. Extended, high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. TRAFFIC SAFETY Do not listen to the receiver while operating a motor vehicle or riding a bicycle. This can create a traffic hazard and is illegal in some areas. Even though some in-ear stereo phones are designed to let you hear some outside sounds when listening at normal volume levels, they still present a traffic hazard. (LB/all-12/28/94)
