SCT-34 Stereo Cassette Deck (140-0633) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 32437 Q: The SCT-34 will not play through a stereo system. When you put a tape in it, the tape has no sound. Does this need a pre-amp and what kind of jacks does it have? A: This is a Stereo Cassette Tape Recording Deck. Make sure the connections are correct. This unit is supplied with patch cords for hook-up. Connect the L & R LINE OUT jacks to the corresponding tape input jacks of the stereo amplifier/receiver. Use another set of the patch cords to connect the LINE IN jacks to the LINE OUT, TAPE OUT, or RECORD OUT jacks on the amplifier/receiver. When recording, both the PLAY button and the RECORD buttons must be pressed to activate the record mode. NOTE: The SCT-34 does not return signals from LINE IN to LINE OUT during recording. When the tape monitor button on the amplfier/receiver is pressed while making a recording, there will be no sound. (IR-05/02/96)
