SCT-49 HIGH-SPEED DUBBING STEREO CASSETTE DECK (140-0664) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 32526 CONNECTING TO YOUR RECEIVER/AMPLIFIER To hear the cassette deck's sound through your receiver/amplifier, use the supplied audio cables to connect the cassette deck's L and R LINE OUT jacks to the receiver/amplifier's left and right tape input jacks. NOTE: If you are not sure which receiver/amplifier jacks to use, see your receiver/amplifier's owner's manual. CONNECTING A RECORDING SOURCE Use the supplied audio cables to connect the cassette deck's L and R LINE IN jacks to your desired recording source's left and right line level output jacks. NOTE: You can also record from a component connected to the receiver/ amplifier. CONNECTING HEADPHONES For private listening, or to monitor as you record, you can connect low impedance headphones with a 1/4-inch (6mm) phone plug to your cassette deck. Insert the headphones' plug into the cassette deck's PHONES jack. NOTE: Your local Radio Shack store sells a wide selection of headphones. Listening Safely To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use headphones. Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Overtime, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause a discomfort might still damage your hearing. CONNECTING POWER After you make all other connections, plug the supplied AC power cord into a standard AC outlet. The power cord's plug is polarized and fits only one way. WARNING: To prevent electric shock, do not plug the power cord into an extension cord or other receptacle unless you can fully and easily insert the plug's blades. (BR/EB 4/19/96)
