Optimus Lab-1000 Semi-Automatic Belt Drive Turntable (420-2022) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32547 WARNING: To protect your hearing, set the volume on your receiver/ amplifier to its lowest level before you operate the turntable. CAUTION: Make sure you have set PRE-AMP-IN/PHONO-OUT for the type of sound system you have before operating the turntable (see "Connecting the Turntable to Your Receiver/Amplifier", on Faxback Doc. # 32546). 1. Open the dust cover. 2. If the tone arm is locked, slide the tone arm lock to the right to unlock it. 3. If you are playing a 45 RPM record, remove the supplied 45 RPM adapter from the top left side of the turntable, then push it down over the turntable spindle. 4. Place a record on the turntable. 5. Move the cue lever to \/ (toward the back of the turntable) to raise the tone arm. -- 6. If necessary, press SPEED to set the turntable's speed (33 1/3 or 45 RPM). 7. Position the tone arm over the desired part of the record. The turntable starts rotating automatically. CAUTION: Never push the tone arm down onto the record surface while the cue lever is set to \/. -- 8. Move the cue lever toward the front of the turntable). The tone arm slowly lowers onto the rotating record, and the record plays. CAUTION: To avoid damaging the turntable, never force the tone arm or press CUT while the tone arm is automatically moving. NOTE: You can lift the tone arm anytime during play by moving the cue lever toward the back of the turntable. You can raise or lower the tone are manually, but we recommend using the cue lever to avoid scratching your records with the stylus. At the end of the record, the tone arm automatically returns to the tone arm rest and the turntable stops. To stop playing the record before it ends, press CUT. NOTES: If the tone arm does not return automatically at the end of the record, press CUT to reset the mechanism. When the turntable is not in use, slide the tone arm lock to the left to lock the tone arm. (YO/EB 4/22/96)
