Insert 2 "AA" size batteries or their equivalent, observing the correct polarities (+ and -). Note: The use of regular batteries is not recommended for this unit as they have a short life. Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer consumption time. Using Rechargeable Batteries 1. Make sure to turn off the CD player by pressing stop/clear button twice and install the Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment. Be sure the polarity is correct. 2. Connect the AC adapter's DC cable into the DC 3V input jack. 3. Attach the adapter to a household AC outlet and turn on the rechargeable switch. CAUTION!! The Rechargeable switch should be in the on position only when rechargeable batteries are installed. Use of the recharging circuit when standard or alkaline batteries are installed could result in damage to the player. For rechargeable batteries: Batteries should be recharged for first time usage and/or after long periods of not being used. Batteries should be recharged for 8 hours to 9 hours for full capacity. The environment temperature for recharging process should be between 0 degrees C to 40 degrees C. Normally, batteries can be recharged up to 300 times.
