MR3950 Personal Compact Disc Player (420-5050) Connections Faxback Doc. # 33115 Using the Supplied AC adapter Plug the adapter into your household AC outlet. Connect the DC cable of the adapter into the DC3V input jack of the unit. Connecting the DC cable into the DC3V jack turns the internal batteries of the unit off, and the power is supplied from the AC adapter. The adapter is not only used for supplying power to the unit, it is also used for charging the Ni-cd rechargeable batteries. NOTE: After using the AC adapter, be sure to disconnect it from the household AC outlet. Ni-cd rechargeable batteries are included. Using the car DC adapter Plug the adapter into your car DC outlet. Connect the DC cable of the adapter into the DC3V input jack of the unit. Connecting the DC cable into the DC3V jack turns the internal batteries of the unit off, and the power is supplied from the DC adapter. Using the car CD to cassette adapter Connect the 1/8" (3.5 mm) adapter plug to the Line Out Jack. Insert the cassette adapter into your cassette player. Adjust volume level with your cassette player. Using the Stereo Y-adapter cable Connect the 1/8" (3.5 mm) adapter plug to the Line Out Jack. Insert the Left and Right patch cable connectors into the Left and Right Aux/CD input of your home stereo. Adjust volume level with your home stereo. CAUTION: Use only AA Ni-cd, standard, or alkaline batteries. When installing the batteries, do not mix standard, alkaline or Ni-cd batteries together. Make sure only to install the same type of batteries. When not using the unit for long periods of time, remember to remove the batteries. If you leave dead or weak batteries in the unit for a long time, chemicals may leak from the batteries and cause the poles to rust or damage the circuits. Do not leave the unit in extremely hot places, such as a closed car which is exposed to strong sunlight. If the unit should get wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth. This unit is not suitable for running or jogging. Avoid moisture condensation If the temperature of the room where the CD player is placed is suddenly increased, or if the CD player is transported from a cold location to a warm one, condensation (tiny droplets of water) may form on the CD player's pick up lens, preventing correct playback. If excess condensation forms on the compact disc or inside the CD player, operation of the CD player will not resume until the condensation has had ample time to dissipate.
