STAV-3000 AM/FM Stereo Receiver (310-3008) Operation Faxback Doc. # 34783 TUNING AM AND FM RADIO FREQUENCIES MEMORY TUNING The memory tuning feature lets you instantlytune to a frequency by letting you store AM and FM frequencies in memory. Each of the eight preset tuning buttons on your receiver is labeled with two numbers. The first number represents a memory location that can store one AM and one FM frequency. The second number represents a memory location that can store a second FM frequency. This means that you can store up to 8 AM and 16 FM frequencies. STORING AM FREQUENCIES IN MEMORY 1. Press [POWER] to turn on the receiver. Then, press [AM]. 2. Use manual or search tuning to select the AM frequency you want to store in memory. 3. Press [MEMORY]. MEMORY appears on the display for about 5 seconds. 4. While MEMORY is displayed, press the desired preset tuning button -- [1/9] through [8/16]. The AM frequency is stored in MEMORY. STORING FM FREQUENCIES IN MEMORY: 1. Press POWER to turn on the receiver. Then, press FM. 2. Use manual or search tuning to select the FM frequency you want to store in memory. 3. Press [MEMORY]. MEMORY appears on the display for about 5 seconds. While MEMORY is displayed do the following: For memories 1-8, quickly tap the desired preset tuning button -- [1/9] through [8/16] -- to store the FM frequency. For memories 9-16, press the desired preset tuning button for 1 or 2 seconds to store the FM frequency. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to store up to 15 additional FM frequencies. NOTES: The receiver must display MEMORY before you can store a frequency. When you store a frequency in a memory that already has one, the old one is erased and replaced. TUNING TO A STORED AM AND FM FREQUENCY 1. Press [POWER] to turn on the receiver. 2. Press [AM] or [FM]. 3. To tune to AM memory positions 1-8, press the desired preset tuning button -- [1/9] through [8/16]. The display shows the selected frequency. To tune to FM memory positions 1-8, quickly tap the desired preset tuning button. For tuning to FM memory positions 9-16, press the desired preset tuning button for 1-2 seconds. The display shows the selected frequency. NOTE: If your receiver is disconnected from AC power for more than 3 days, it loses all the stored frequencies. (IR-10/02/96)
