System 713 (130-1260) Connections Faxback Doc. # 7824 CAUTION: Before making connections, be sure the power cord is unplugged. SPEAKER CONNECTIONS Follow these steps to connect the speaker wires to the channel terminals on the back of the tuner. 1. Press the upper (+) terminal's red lever and insert the left speaker's black wire with the white stripe. Release the lever. 2. Press the lower (-) terminal's black lever and insert the left speaker's solid black wire. Release the lever. 3. Connect the right speaker's black wire with the white stripe to the red lower (+) terminal. 4. Connect the right speaker's solid black wire to the upper (-) terminal. CONNECTING OTHER AUDIO EQUIPMENT To connect additional audio equipment (such as another CD player or a cassette deck) to your System 713, connect the left and right line level output jacks of the CD player or cassette deck to the AUX IN L (left) and R (right) input jacks on the back of the System 713. See "Using an Auxiliary Unit" for how to operate the equipment you connected. CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA Attach an FM or TV antenna (not supplied) to the 300 ohm EXT ANT terminal on the back of the system. If you have an outside VHF TV antenna, you can use a 300-ohm signal splitter to connect your radio and TV set to the same antenna. Your local Radio Shack store has a wide selection of antennas and connectors. CONNECTING TO POWER When you have made all connections, connect the System 713's power cord to a standard AC outlet.
