Chronomatic-303 (120-1603) Hints and Tips Faxback Doc. # 9977 If the system is subjected to a sudden shock or jolt during play, the CD's rotation speed might suddenly change, the music might be briefly interrupted, or the current track might start over. This is not a malfunction. Remove a CD from the CD compartment before you move the Chronomatic-303. Moving the Chronomatic-303 with a loaded CD might damage the CD. Moving the Chronomatic-303 suddenly from a cold place to a warmer one can cause moisture to form on the pick up lens and disrupt operation. If this happens, wait about 1 hour for the moisture to evaporate before playing a CD. Do not place anything except a CD in the CD compartment. Doing so can damage the mechanism. To clean your CDs, use a CD cleaner kit, available at your local Radio Shack store. Although a CD lasts indefinitely with normal use, we recommend the following precautions: Always hold the CD by the edges and keep it in its protective case or sleeve when it is not in use. Fingerprints and scratches on the CD's surface can prevent the laser from correctly reading the digital information. If the CD gets scratched, use Scratch n'Fix (Radio Shack Cat. No. 42-127) to keep the disc from skipping. Keep CDs dry. A drop of moisture can act as a lens and effect the laser beam's focus. Remove the moisture with a soft, dry cloth. Be sure CDs are fully dry before you use them. Do not store CDs in high temperature high-humidity locations. The CDs might warp. (LB/all-03/06/95)
