High Power AM/FM Stereo Car Cassette Player (120-2104A) Cassette Player Operation Faxback Doc. # 18184 PLAYING A CASSETTE NOTE: Avoid using C-120 cassette tapes. They are very thin and easily become tangled in the tape-handling parts. Follow these steps to play a cassette tape. 1. Take up any tape slack by turning the cassette's hub with your finger or a pencil. Avoid touching the tape. 2. Press POWER to turn on the stereo. 3. Insert the tape into the cassette compartment with its open edge to the right and the full reel toward you. The tape begins to play and the direction indicator appears on the display. 4. If you are using a metal or CrO2 (TypeII) tape, press 6/METAL so 70us appears on the display. For other tape types, press 6/METAL so 70us does not appear. If you are using a tape recorded with Dolby B NR, press 5/Dolby symbol to turn on the Dolby Noise Reduction circuitry. The Dolby symbol appears on the display. For tapes not recorded with Dolby B NR, press 5/Dolby symbol so the Dolby symbol does not appear. 5. Adjust the volume, bass, treble, balance, and fader levels as desired. 6. Press in the stop/eject key all the way to stop and eject the cassette. NOTES: When the tape reaches either end while playing or fast-forwarding, the cassette player automatically changes the tape's direction and plays the other side of the tape. Play continues until you press stop/eject key. During play, you can switch to the other side of the cassette by pressing << and >> at the same time until the indicator on the display changes direction. FAST-FORWARD AND REWIND To fast-forward or quickly rewind the current side, firmly press >> or << until the button locks and the tape quickly winds. Direction To Fast-Fwd To Rewind of Play Press Press ____________________________________________ > >> << ____________________________________________ < << >> Play resumes when the tape reaches the end. To stop fast winding before the end of the tape, gently press and release the opposite button. Play continues in the same direction. (CS 11/20/95)
