High Power AM/FM Stereo Car Cassette Player (120-2104A) Operation Faxback Doc. # 18187 SETTING THE CLOCK 1. Turn on the vehicle's ignition. 2. Press POWER to turn off the radio. The currently set time appears on the display. NOTES: You can set the time only when the radio is turned off and the vehicle's ignition is turned on or set to ACC. If you do not perform Steps 3-6 within 5 seconds of each other, the hour stops flashing and the display returns to the current time. 3. Press and hold F/C until the hour flashes, then release F/C. 4. Press /\ to increase, or \/ to decrease the hour to the desired time. 5. Press F/C again until the minutes flash. 6. Press /\ to increase, or \/ to decrease the minutes to the desired time. SELECTING THE DISPLAY COLOR The display and front panel lighting can be switched to green or amber. To change the display's color, do the following: 1. Remove the front panel to expose the lighting selector switch. See "Attaching and Removing the Front Panel," Faxback Doc.# , Installation. 2. Slide the selector switch to the desired color. 3. Replace the front panel and turn on the stereo. The display and front panel show the color you selected. UNDERSTANDING THE CONTROLS When you listen to your stereo, you can adjust the following controls to suit your listening preferences. On/Off - Press POWER to turn the stereo on or off. Volume - Press /\ to increase or \/ to decrease the volume. The volume level appears on the display (such as VOL:50). The volume level ranges from 0 to 80. WARNING: To protect your hearing, do not listen at high volume levels. Slowly increase the volume to a comfortable listening level. Audio Select - Repeatedly press AUDIO SEL to select the other audio controls for adjustment. The selection sequence is Bass -> Treble -> Balance -> Fader -> Volume -> Bass. The display automatically returns to the time display 5 seconds after you finish adjusting the sound. Bass - Press AUDIO SEL until the display shows the current bass level (such as BAS:+2). Then press /\ to increase or \/ to decrease the low-frequency sounds. The base level ranges from +7 to -7. Treble - Press AUDIO SEL until the display shows the current treble level (such as TRE:--2). Then press /\ to increase or \/ to decrease the high-frequency sounds. The treble level ranges from +7 or -7. Balance - Press AUDIO SEL until the display shows the current balance level (such as BAL:L2). Then press /\ to shift the balance to the right speakers, or press \/ to shift the balance to the left speakers. The balance level ranges from L9 to R9. Fader - Press AUDIO SEL until the display shows the current fader level (such as FAD:F2). Then press /\ to shift the balance to the rear speakers, or press \/ to shift the balance to the front speakers. The fader level ranges from F9 to R9. NOTE: If you have only one pair of speakers and you are also using the line-level outputs, then the fader control adjusts the balance between the speakers and the line-level outputs. R indicates more output to the line-level outputs and F indicates more output to the speaker wires. Mute - Press MUTE to temporarily silence the sound. The display shows - - - - -. Press MUTE again to restore the sound. Loudness - Press LOUD to boost the high and low frequencies when listening at low volume levels. LOUD appears on the display.
