MEMORY TUNING You can store up to 12 AM and 18 FM stations in memory. Each memory group (AM 1, AM 2, FM 1, FM 2, and FM 3) holds up to six stations. You can let the stereo search for the six strongest stations in a band and automatically enter them into a memory group, or you can manually enter stations into a memory group. Automatically Storing Stations 1. Press BAND until the stereo displays the band and memory group where you want to store a group of stations. For example, to store the first group of FM stations, press BAND until FM 1, appears on the display. 2. Press and hold down AMS (Automatic Memory Scan) for about 2 seconds. The system scans the entire selected band and automatically stores the six strongest stations in the band. After the radio stores six stations into memory, it tunes to the last stored station in the memory group and begins to play. Note: If the stereo does not automatically store a station you want, you can manually store it. See "Manually Storing Stations," below. Manually Storing Stations 1. Press BAND to select the desired band and memory group. For example, select AM 1 to store frequencies in the first group of AM stations. 2. Manually tune to the station you want to store. 3. Press and hold down the desired memory location button (1-6) until the memory location number and the station's frequency appear on the display. The volume momentarily mutes while the radio stores the station, then returns to normal after the station is stored. To store more stations in the selected memory group, repeat Steps 2-3. Selecting a Stored Station To select a stored station, first press BAND to select the desired memory group. Then press the desired memory location button. CAUTION: Do not hold down the memory location button. This erases the previously stored station and stores the currently tuned station in its place. Scanning Stored Stations In the automatic memory scan (AMS) mode, the radio scans all the stored stations in the selected memory group, pausing for 5 seconds at each stations. To start the automatic memory scan, briefly press AMS. The radio begins scanning the stored stations. Caution: Do not hold down AMS. This causes the radio to automatically seek and store six stations into the selected memory group. To stop scanning when the radio pauses at a station you want to listen to, press AMS. (CS 11/20/95)
