Using the color code chart as guide. Then, turn on your autosound system to be sure that you properly connected the speakers. Notes: If you connect rear speakers, the same color code applies. Other autosound have four wires but wires might not use the same color codes. If your autosound system is other than a Radio Shack brand, check its owner's manual for the speaker wire color codes. Caution: Do not connect any of your speaker wires to the chassis ground. Use all four wires to connect the speakers to your vehicle's autosound system. 2-Speaker System Left GRN WHT Right GRY BRN 4-Speaker System Left Rear GRN Left Front WHT Right Front GRY Right Rear BRN Note: To ensure proper phasing, match the speaker wire to the corresponding positive (+) or negative (-) speaker terminals. Improper phasing can cause poor bass response. If your autosound system has a front-to-rear fader, follow the instructions in the audio component's manual for the correct speaker connections. MOUNTING THE SPEAKERS Before you mount the speakers, turn on your car's autosound system to be sure that you properly connected the speakers. Note: If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, we recommend that you have a professional installer install the speakers. To mount each speaker: 1. Select a flat area (such as your car's rear deck) for the mounting surface. The surface should be sturdy enough to support the weight of the speakers. 2. Use the speaker cabinet's base as a template to mark the desired mounting position. Then, determine the center of the mounting position. 3. Drill a 6mm hole in the center of the mounting position. 4. Attach the bolt to the center of the mounting position. 5. Position the speaker cabinet on the mounting surface by inserting the bolt through the drilled hole. 6. From under the mounting surface, place the washer over the bolt. Then, thread and tighten the wing nut until the speaker cabinet is secure. (LB/all-03/06/95)
