Tandy 1000 RSX (250-1454/55) Math Coprocessor Faxback Doc. # 1338 Computer-aided packages, spreadsheet packages, and other applications that require many mathematic calculations can tie up the CPU. A math coprocessor takes over the mathematical processing to free the CPU for other uses. Your computer requires a 25 MHz, 387SX math coprocessor. The math coprocessor socket is located on the main logic board. Carefully read the instructions before you place the coprocessor into the socket. Incorrect orientation or installation of the coprocessor can damage the coprocessor of the socket. Radio Shack Service Center technicians will install option devices if you choose not to do so yourself. Use the following procedure to install a math coprocessor on the main logic board of your computer: 1. Orient the math coprocessor so that the notch in the end of the coprocessor aligns with the notched end of the socket. 2. Press the math coprocessor into the socket, taking care not to bend or touch the metal pins. Note: Refer to Faxback Doc. # 9002 for catalog number of Math Coprocessor and location on Main Logic Board. (/tmc-04/27/95)
