4820SX/T (250-5140) Introduction Faxback Doc. # 1676 CONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT Connect your equipment as shown below. Be sure to align each connector correctly. Each connector fits only one way. Before you turn on the computer, not the following information on specific parts of your system. MONITOR You can use your computer with either a color or monochrome VGA analog monitor or multi-frequency monitor. Connect the monitor to the video connector on the back of the computer. POWER CORD The power supply is auto-sensing. It automatically switches between 115V and 230V, depending on the incoming voltage. Use the power cord that is appropriate for the incoming voltage of your power source: * For a 115V power source: Use a UL Listed cord set consisting of a minimum 18 AWG, type SJT three-conductor cord that is a maximum of 15 feet in length and that has a parallel blade, grounding-type attachment plug rated 10A, 125V. The power cord included with the computer meets these requirements. * For a 230V power source inside the U.S.A.: Use a UL Listed cord set consisting of a minimum 18 AWG, type SJT three-conductor that is a maximum of 15 feet in length and that has a tandem blade, grounding-type attachment plug rated 10A, 250V. * For a 230V power source outside the U.S.A.: Use a cord set consisting of a minimum 18 AWG cord and grounding-type attachment plug rated 10A, 250V. The cord set should have the appropriate safety approvals for the country in which the equipment will be installed and should be marked HAR. Connect the power cord to the AC input connector and to an easily accessible standard, grounded AC wall outlet. Do not use an outlet that powers heavy machinery, copiers, office machines, or similar devices. If you must use an extension, use a grounded, multiple-outlet power strip. The combined length of the power cord and the extension must not exceed the maximum length specified above. PERIPHERAL DEVICES Always turn on the printer and other peripheral devices before turning on the computer. See the printer documentation for information about using the printer and the printer software. See the mouse documentation for information about configuring the mouse software for use with the computer. THE KEYBOARD The 101-key enhanced keyboard features a curved profile for easy typing.
