Sensation! (250-1650/1) Changing the Icon Faxback Doc. # 15796 Properties When updating the versions of software on the Tandy Sensation or Tandy Sensation II, the icons within the doors need to have the properties changed. To resolve this problem, you need to change the information to reflect the current directory structure and executable files. We will use the America OnLine software as an example. Use the following procedure: 1. At the C:\WINDOWS prompt, edit the SYSTEM.INI file to read: shell=progman.exe 2. Go into Windows. At the opening screen of Program Manager, click on FILE - RUN - and whatever command 'INSTALL' or 'SETUP' used to install the software. America OnLine uses the SETUP command. Click on OK. This creates the program group and icons needed to run the software within Windows. 3. Exit the Windows environment, and change the shell statement in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI file back to shell=desktop.exe. 4. Go into the WinMate environment. Click on the IN TOUCH door. The communication options will appear. 5. Click on the drawing board image (Graphics Manager) on the right side of the screen. This loads the Graphics Manager, and redraws the screen. 6. Locate the cursor on the America OnLine icon. Click on the EDIT option of the menu bar, and select PROPERTIES. The overlay display indicates the following: Command Line: c:\aol\aol.pif Working Directory: c:\aol 7. The updated properties for the system were changed to: Command Line: c:\aol20\waol.exe Working Directory: c:\aol20 8. This completes the changes that need to be made. Click on the RED ARROW at the right side of the screen to go back to the standard desktop display screen. At the selection of FILE - EXIT, there is a prompt for 'save current changes' - click on OK.
