433 SX/T (259-7701) Battery Faxback Doc. # 2308 Each time you turn on the computer, it accesses a battery-backed memory chip (CMOS RAM) that contains information about your computer configuration. The CMOS RAM battery also powers a real-time clock that keeps the system time and date. NOTE: The replacement battery can be ordered from National Parts. Part number CS-0032 is a 3.6V lithium battery When the battery fails, the computer loses the configuration and the time and date information each time you turn off the computer. WARNING: Improper handling of this lithium battery can be hazardous. Never recharge, disassemble, or heat the battery above 100°C (212°F). Never solder directly to the battery or expose the contents of the battery to water. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions. Replace the battery with a battery of the same type. To replace the battery: 1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all cables. 2. Discharge any accumulated static electricity from your body by touching a grounded metal object. Then, open the computer. 3. Connect the battery wire to the battery connector on the main logic board. 4. Attach the battery to the Velcro strip. 5. Be sure the internal cables are securely connected and do not cause mechanical interference. Then, close the computer. 6. Reconnect all cables. 7.
