This appendix contains information about the audio adapter installed in
the bottom expansion slot of your computer.

The audio adapter has the following features:

°  software-programmable digital/analog mixer - allows 
   simultaneous playing of .WAV files, MIDI files, and 
   audio tracks

°  stereo-digitized voice channel with stereo 8-bit DAC-
   lets you use FM synthesis to create interesting
   instrumental and percussion sounds

°  FM music voices:  8 selectable waveforms, up to 15
   melodies, and 5 percussion sounds

°  programmable sampling rate

°  8-bit stereo analog/digital conversion of sound
   signal - enables more efficient use of hard drive space
   than 16-bit conversion

°  CDR-1100 CD-ROM drive interface, joystick port, and
   MIDI interface - allows easy connection of the CD-ROM
   drive, a joystick and/or MIDI device

°  microphone jack and amplifier with Automatic Gain
   Control (AGC) - enables you to connect and use an
   optional microphone with less distortion of voice input

°  stereo power amplifier - provides for localized sound
   with portable speakers

°  master volume control - lets you control the volume of
   all audio output from a single location

°  direct and DMA DAC transfer modes - enables easy
   processing of audio files

°  software-selectable sound input - lets you use software
   to choose microphone input (mono), line input (mono or 
   stereo), and CD audio input (mono or stereo)
