These software CDs contained the following software: System CD - MS-Windows (MPC version), Software Toolworks Reference Library, Software Toolworks U.S. Atlas, & Software Toolworks World Atlas. Animals CD - San Diego Zoo - The Animals. The MMPC Mod 20 included the same software, but was packaged on three CDs, not two, as follows: System CD - MS-Windows (MPC version), Software Toolworks Reference Library, & Software Toolworks U.S. Atlas. Animals CD - San Diego Zoo - The Animals World Atlas CD - Software Toolworks World Atlas. Applications Appendix This section provides some detailed information about some of the applications on your hard drive. Microsoft Workgroup Connection Workgroup Connection is provided on the System Disc included with your computer. To use Workgroup Connection: ° your computer must have a network adapter installed and be connected to a network. ° at least one computer on the network must have Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Microsoft LAN Manager, or a LAN Manager-compatible network application installed. To install the application on the hard drive: 1. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type: "d: \dos60\disk4\wcsetup and press ENTER. WCSETUP loads and installs Workgroup Connection onto your hard drive. Installing and Removing Applications Follow these steps to install or remove applications: > Note: If you have customized any applications, the customized features will be lost after installation. 1. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Type"d:" and press ENTER. 3. From the Windows Program Manager, open the Main group and double click on the WINSTALL icon. 4. Select the applications you want to install or remove. 5. Click on "install" or "remove" to perform the installation or removal. Customizing Applications During Installation You can perform a custom installation of the applications on your hard drive by running the installation program for the application. During installation, you specify system configuration information. > Note: Some applications let you specify system configuration settings without reinstalling. For example, you can use the Setup icon in the Main Group to select a custom video driver. Refer to the application documentation for more information. Refer to the device documentation if you are unfamiliar with system configuration details such as the monitor type, video mode, and mouse type. Use the following instructions to customize the applications that are pre-installed on your hard drive. Software Toolworks Reference Library To install Toolworks Reference Library: 1. Insert the system Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type"d:" and press ENTER to access the CD-ROM drive. 3. Type "install" and press ENTER. INSTALL loads. Follow the instructions on the screen to customize Toolworks Reference Library as it is installed. Windows To custom install Windows: 1. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type "d:" and press ENTER. 3. Type "cd\mwin" and press ENTER. 4. Type "setup" and press ENTER. Windows SETUP loads. Follow the instructions on the screen to customize Windows. U.S. Atlas and World Atlas To custom install the Atlas programs: 1. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. From the Windows Program Manager, select the File menu. Then, select "Run." 3. Click on "Browse". Access the root directory of the System Disc (D:\). 4. Click on the text box. Type "setup" and press ENTER. 5. Choose the Atlas application you want to install, and press ENTER. SETUP loads. Follow the instructions on the screen to customize the Atlas application as it is installed. If you need to install U.S. and World Atlas applications, repeat this step. Microsoft Works To custom install works: 1. From the Program Manager, select the File menu. Then, select "Run." 2. Click on "Browse." Access the root directory of the SystemDisc (D:\). 3. Type "wrksetup " and press ENTER. The program loads. Follow the instructions on the screen to customize Works as it is installed. America Online To custom install America On Line: 1. From the Program Manager, select the File menu. Select "Run." Then, click on "Browse" and access the WAOL directory on drive D:. 2. Type "install" and press ENTER. INSTALL loads. Follow the instructions on the screen to customize America On Line as it is installed. Toolworks Animals To custom install Animals: 1. Insert the Animals CD. 2. From the Program Manager, select the File menu and choose "Run." 3. Click on "Browse." Select the root directory (D:\). Then type setup and press ENTER. SETUP loads.
