SENSATION! (250-1650) External Floppy Drive B Faxback Doc. # 2615 There are two versions of the EXTSETUP.COM that allowed the user an option of drive B: on the extdrvr.sys. The release of EXTSETUP.COM, 52861, 03-19-92, 2:05 & the EXTDRVR.SYS also had a file stamp of 03-19-92. This version of driver did NOT WORK properly as drive B: The latest release of the EXTSETUP.COM has a file size of 53612 & date of 07-12-93 2:09p. This EXTDRVR.SYS also has a file stamp of 07-12-93. This driver does work properly as drive B:, below is an example of the device driver in the CONFIG.SYS. DEVICE=C:\EXTDRVR.SYS B: You can use the external drive as drive B: as long as the customer does not already have a second floppy drive. NOTE, it is not necessary to change the cpu setup for the second floppy drive. As the ext floppy drive is not controlled by the floppy drive controller. If a customer or store is having a problem with the external drive and they do not have the latest driver they should obtain a copy of it. The drivers can be obtained from the Product Support Library CD or from the Product Center. Remember that if the customer has used either the assign command or dev.com in the AUTOEXEC.BAT they do need to remove that line when installing the new driver. NOTE: This version of the driver can be used on our MPC's instead of using the dev.com as a work around. Please note that dev.com does not work with DOS 6.0 and doublespace (refer to Spence Mabry's memo).
