Statesman 200C                       BIOS

These steps should be followed to flash the BIOS code.

NOTICE:  Failure to follow these instructions could result in making the
         unit inoperable.  There is no recovery function available for
         this BIOS.

1.  Obtain the current Flash BIOS code from your nearest Packard Bell
    representatives.

2.  Connect the computer to  AC power.

    NOTE:  This program will only operate while the computer is connected
           to AC power.

3.  Charge the battery pack to guard against data loss if there is a power
    failure during the update.

4.  Power on the computer.

5.  Make an MS-DOS bootable system disk.

6.  Install the Flash BIOS files onto this disk.  Use only the latest,
    approved version of the BIOS.

7.  Insert the Flash BIOS disk in drive A.

8.  Reboot the system.

9.  Type FLASH X (space) YYY.BIN.

    Where X represents the current version of the flash utility and YYY
    represents the current version of the flash code.

10.  When the message:

     Booting system ...

     appears, remove the Flash BIOS disk from drive A.
