HTX-212 Two-Meter (190-1125) Hints and Tips Faxback Doc. #14445 Mobile Transceiver This radio will not be able to handle packet radio at 9600 Baud. Any use of this radio to contact a repeater below 145.2 MHz with a -600 KHz (standard) offset or any use which will cause transmission below 144.6 MHz will result in the display of a "tF Err" and the radio beeps twice. This is circumvented by opening up the transmit capabilities of the radio. Pages 17 and 18 of the Owner's Manual describe the procedure to do this. Simply turn off the radio and then turn it on while holding FUNCTION and DTMF. NOTE: Transmission outside the 2-meter band (144-148 MHz) is not legal without the appropriate CAP and MARS licenses. The HTX-212 saves memory frequencies via EEPROM. (IR/ir-04/27/95)
