INSTALLING THE BATTERY

The headset uses one AAA battery.  For the longest battery life, we
recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555.

Follow these steps to install the battery.

1.  Press down on the battery compartment cover and slide it in the
    direction of the arrow.

2.  Install the battery as indicated by the polarity symbols ( + and - )
    marked inside the compartment.

3.  Replace the cover.

NOTE:  If you are using VOX operation and the transceiver does not switch
       to transmit when you begin speaking, replace the battery.

ADJUSTING THE HEADBAND AND MICROPHONE

To adjust the headband for a custom fit, firmly grasp the headband's center
section and slide each side in or out until the earcup is over your ear and
the headband's other end is above your other ear.

You might have to adjust the microphone position so the VOX operation works
properly.  To adjust the microphone position, rotate the microphone boom so
the microphone is near your mouth.  Then bend the microphone boom to move
the microphone to within about 1/2 - 1 inch from your mouth.

CONNECTING TO THE TRANSCEIVER

NOTE:  To avoid accidental transmission, turn off the transceiver before
       you connect the headset to it.

Insert the headset's 1/8 - inch speaker plug into the transceiver's
earphone jack.  Then insert the headset's 3/32 microphone plug into the
transceiver's microphone jack.
